"Dangerous Dozen" Program an Immediate Success for U.S. Marshals Task Force

June 1, 2010 - Cleveland, Ohio - The holiday weekend was no vacation for the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF). With last Thursday’s release of the NOVFTF’s new “Dangerous Dozen”, the tips came pouring in and the NOVFTF captured two of the “Dangerous Dozen” within 48 hours of the announcement. The first arrest occurred Saturday at approximately 2:00 p.m., when fugitive Eric Jones, age 27, was taken into custody at a residence on the 3600 block of Burton Street in Toledo. Jones was arrested by the Toledo Police Special Enforcement Division at the request of the NOVFTF Toledo Division. Jones was wanted by the Toledo Police Department for homicide and had been sought by the NOVFTF since January 2010. The NOVFTF received a tip from a citizen who recognized Jones from the “Dangerous Dozen” announcement and the NOVFTF contacted the Toledo Police Special Enforcement Division, who immediately responded and affected the arrest.

While the arrest was occurring in Toledo, the NOVFTF Lorain County Division was also at work following up on a tip received regarding “Dangerous Dozen” fugitive Tristan Alls, age 19, wanted for felonious assault by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office. Numerous tips were received regarding Alls after the public announcement last Thursday. The NOVFTF received a specific tip placing Alls at a barbecue at a residence located on the 300 block of Kentucky Avenue in Lorain. Members of the NOVFTF were called in and then located and arrested Alls at the barbecue at approximately 4:30 p.m., without incident. The NOVFTF had been seeking Alls since 2009 and he had been actively evading law enforcement up until this weekend.

With the new vacancies to the “Dangerous Dozen”, the NOVFTF has two more fugitives that have landed on the list. The NOVFTF Toledo Division has added fugitive Christopher Williams, age 19, to the “Dangerous Dozen”. Williams is a known gang member of the “Fernwood Boys” and is wanted for aggravated assault with a firearm by the Toledo Police Department. On April 14, 2010, Williams allegedly fired multiple rounds at two females that he knew who were parked in a vehicle near his residence. Williams is a black male at 5’11” and 210 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes.

The NOVFTF Lorain County Division has added fugitive Lee Anderson, age 28, to the “Dangerous Dozen”. Anderson is wanted by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office for numerous charges including escape, resisting arrest, drugs and fraud by identity theft. He is also wanted by the Lorain Police Department for burglary. Anderson has a history of resisting arrest and recently evaded an arrest attempt by law enforcement officers by jumping off a roof and fleeing on foot. Anderson is a black male at 6’01” and 190 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. Both of the fugitive’s photos have been added to the attached updated “Dangerous Dozen” flyer. More detailed wanted posters are linked on the flyer and the public can also go to the U.S. Marshals website at www.usmarshals.gov/district/oh-n/fugitives to view all the “Dangerous Dozen” fugitives and wanted posters.

U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott stated, “We are very happy with the success of this new ‘Dangerous Dozen’ program and thanks to the media and concerned citizens, we were able to quickly apprehend these two dangerous fugitives. We are hopeful that we can continue this trend with the fugitives currently listed on the ‘Dangerous Dozen’.”
