Seeking the Public’s Assistance to Locate a Serial Bank Robber

May 17, 2010 - The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate a subject who is believed to be responsible for two bank robberies since last Monday.

On Monday, May 10, 2010, the subject robbed the Beneficial Bank branch located at 826 East Allegheny Avenue, and on Saturday, May 15, 2010, at approximately 11:10 a.m., it is believed the same individual robbed the Third Federal Bank branch located at 2330 East York Street. In both robberies, the subject made threatening verbal demands to tellers and fled the area of the banks on foot after obtaining cash. After Saturday’s robbery, the subject was last seen heading south on Memphis Street. There were no injuries in either robbery.

The subject is described as a white male in his 40’s, 5’7” tall, medium build, with scruffy facial hair. In both robberies, the subject wore dark sunglasses and had a hoods pulled up over his head. In Saturday’s robbery, he was wearing a “Pitt” hooded sweatshirt.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI at 215-418-4000 or the Philadelphia Police Department. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
