Ho-Hum Bandit Hits Fifth Bank

April 12, 2010 - The FBI and San Diego Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown male dubbed the “Ho-Hum Bandit,” responsible for at least five San Diego bank robberies.

On Thursday, April 8, 2010, at approximately 2:36 p.m., a lone male entered the Citibank, located at 7900 Herschel Avenue, in the La Jolla area of San Diego, California, presenting a demand note for cash.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

Sex: Male

Race: White

Age: Mid to late 20s

Height: Approximately 5’7”

Weight: Approximately 150 pounds, small build

Hair: Brown with long sideburns

Clothing: Faded blue jeans, short-sleeved button up shirt, ball cap (during two robberies he wore the same Dale Earnhardt, Jr. cap with a white back, green front with red “88” on the front)

Other: Clean shaven, thin nose, fair skin, and thick prescription glasses with thick frames

The Ho-Hum Bandit is believed to be responsible for the following robberies:

Feb. 27, 2010 San Diego National Bank, 1075 Rosecrans Ave, San Diego, CA

Mar. 9, 2010 San Diego National Bank, 810 W. Washington St, San Diego, CA

Mar. 25, 2010 Chase Bank, 2551 5th Ave, San Diego, CA

Apr. 2, 2010 Citibank, 755 Broadway Circle, San Diego, CA

Apr. 8, 2010 Citibank, 7900 Herschel Ave., La Jolla, CA

He has been dubbed the Ho-Hum Bandit because he is plain and unassuming.
