CBP Officers Intercept Alleged Impostors at Hidalgo/Reynosa International Bridges

Travelers Using Entry Documents Belonging to Someone Else

April 22, 2010 - Hidalgo, Texas – U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers working at the Hidalgo/Reynosa International Bridge intercepted two male alleged impostors to valid entry documents. One traveler arrived in a taxi cab and the other as a pedestrian.

On April 15th and April 18th, CBP officers working at the Hidalgo/Reynosa International Bridge came in contact with a northbound taxi cab passenger and a northbound pedestrian. The male taxi cab passenger was identified as a 38-year-old Mexican citizen from Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico, while the male pedestrian was identified as a 22-year-old Mexican citizen from Manuel Doblado, Guanajuato, Mexico. In both instances, the travelers were referred to secondary for further inspection. In secondary, CBP officers established that the U.S. entry documents presented by the travelers did not belong to them and that they had been issued to other persons. The entry documents presented by the travelers were seized by CBP.

CBP officers have detained and charged both men on alleged violations of immigration law.
