COPS Office Releases New Episode of "The Beat"
The Office of
Community Oriented Policing Services has released a new episode of "The
Beat" podcast series, featuring Elsie L. Scott, Ph.D., for a discussion
about gender diversity in policing that is based on her professional
experiences and observations regarding the evolution of law enforcement. Dr.
Scott is the founding director of the Ronald W. Walters Leadership and Public
Policy Center at Howard University. Previously, she served as the executive
director of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives and
Deputy Commissioner of Training for the New York City Police Department, as
well as holding senior supervisory roles in the Detroit and District of
Columbia police departments, and with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
