ATF Offers Reward in Arson


DETROIT — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), in conjunction with the Detroit Fire Department have announced a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction for those responsible for a fire at the Al-Qur’an was-Sunnah Society House of Worship.

On Sept. 22, 2018, the Detroit Fire Department responded to a fire at 19800 Van Dyke Avenue around 11:30 p.m.  A witness reported seeing an unknown male throwing two Molotov Cocktails at the south side of the building.  The suspect was last seen leaving the scene southbound on Van Dyke Avenue driving an early 2000 model four door Oldsmobile, champagne-colored, with no license plate.  He is described as a black male with dark complexion standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall.  Please see attached sketch.
