DENVER — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and
Explosives and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade
association for the firearms industry, have announced a reward of up to $5,000
for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects
responsible for burglarizing Tips and Brass, located at 15450 East Hampden
Avenue in Aurora, Colorado.
Two suspects forced entry through the front door of Tips and
Brass on September 23 at approximately 3 a.m., while the store was closed. The
suspects stole one AR-15 style rifle, a 12-gauge shotgun, two training pistols
and five boxes of ammunition.
Suspect 1 is described as a male, late teens to early 20’s,
wearing a white or light-grey hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants and solid
black shoes. Suspect 2 is described as a male, late teens to early 20’s,
wearing a white or light-grey hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans, and two-colored
Nike shoes. Both suspects entered the store with a handkerchief or white
material covering their face. The suspects also carried a light-colored
backpack.

The reward is part of a larger national cooperative
initiative between the NSSF and ATF in which NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases
involving the theft of firearms from federally licensed firearms retailers. ATF
works closely with members of the firearms industry to curb the criminal
acquisition and misuse of firearms.
