Houma, La. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and
Explosives (ATF) New Orleans Field Division is offering a reward, along with
the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), the trade association for the
firearms industry, for a total of up to $10,000 for information leading to the
arrest and conviction of those responsible for the burglary and theft of
firearms from a federal firearms licensee (FFL), Top Dollar Pawn of Houma,
located at 4859 Hwy 182, Houma, LA 704364.
On Sept. 2, 2018, unknown individuals forced entry into,
burglarized the pawnshop, and stole numerous firearms from the business. The suspect(s)
fled in an unknown direction with the stolen firearms. Special Agents from ATF
New Orleans Group I are assisting the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office in this
investigation.
ATF is offering a reward in the amount up to $5,000.00,
which will be matched by the NSSF for a total reward of up to $10,000.00. This
reward is part of a larger national cooperative initiative between the NSSF and
ATF in which NSSF matches ATF rewards in cases involving the theft of firearms
from federally licensed firearms retailers. ATF works closely with members of
the firearms industry to curb the criminal acquisition and misuse of firearms.
