Facebook Live Triple-Shooting Suspect Captured by U.S. Marshals While Riding Hoverboard

Norfolk, VA - The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested Tony Angelo Roundtree, 25, in Suffolk yesterday afternoon. Roundtree had seven outstanding felony warrants for his alleged role in last month’s triple shooting in Norfolk that was broadcast on Facebook Live. He was arrested while riding a hoverboard in a residential area.

In the evening of July 12, Norfolk police officers responded to a shooting in the 900 block of Bainbridge Boulevard. Responding officers found a vehicle with three male occupants inside. Officers quickly discovered all three occupants were suffering from gunshot wounds, and the three victims were transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. This incident was captured on Facebook Live, which was being utilized by one of the victims.

On Tuesday, the Norfolk Police Department issued seven felony warrants for Roundtree, charging him with malicious wounding (three counts), use of firearm in commission of a felony (three counts), and maliciously shooting at an occupied motor vehicle. The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force was asked for assistance in locating and apprehending Roundtree based on these outstanding warrants.

Wednesday afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force observed a man matching Roundtree's description exit a residence in Green Ash Court in Suffolk. After the man hopped on a hoverboard and began riding out of the cul-de-sac, investigators positively identified him as Roundtree. Task force members converged on Roundtree, and he was taken into custody not far from the residence.

Roundtree is being held at the Norfolk City Jail.
