Albuquerque, NM - Deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the U.S.
Marshals Service South West Investigative Fugitive Team (SWIFT) tracked down
and arrested fugitive Emory Werito in the Farmington area near Nageezi. Werito
was booked into the San Juan County Detention Center.
Fugitive Werito was wanted by the San Juan County Sherriff’s
Office for multiple felony warrants including; Battery Upon A Peace Officer,
Aggravated Fleeing Law Enforcement, and Failure To Appear on Simple Assault,
and several other offenses.
Werito has an extensive Criminal History including;
Kidnapping in the 1st degree, Assault on a Police Officer, Aggravated Battery,
Aggravated fleeing Law enforcement, Multiple charges of Resisting, Evading, and
obstructing law enforcement, Attempted Kidnapping and false imprisonment, Abuse
of a child, and Battery.
In Addition, the U.S. Marshals Service is working along with
the FBI and the United States Attorney’s Office to pursue charges of assault on
a federal officer.
