Harrisburg, PA. – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin Pane announced
the arrest of Sophia Williams, a 31-year old woman, for accessory after the
fact to first-degree murder.
On February 10, Deputy U.S. Marshals and members of the U.S.
Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of
Pennsylvania arrested Williams in the 500 block of Erford Road in East
Pennsboro Township, Cumberland County. Williams is being held pending judicial
proceedings concerning her extradition to Florida.
On January 22, 2015, Williams was charged by the Rockledge
Police Department in Brevard County, Florida with Accessory After the
Fact-First Degree Premeditated Murder. It is alleged that Williams played a
role in a November 2012 fatal shooting.
The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of
Pennsylvania is comprised of 23 state, county and local police agencies,
including the Harrisburg Bureau of Police, Dauphin County Adult Probation
Office, and Pennsylvania Board of Probation – all of whom participated in this
fugitive investigation. Additional assistance was provided by the East
Pennsboro Township Police Department.
United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “The
cooperation demonstrated by law enforcement in this case ensured that a
dangerous fugitive was taken off the streets. It is our top priority to arrest
violent crime fugitives, especially those who have no regard for human life.”
