Burlington, VT - The U.S. Marshals Service Vermont Violent
Offender Task Force (VVOTF) arrested a Vermont fugitive who was wanted for a
multitude of charges, including drug charges and a Probation Violation.
Cindy Abbott, 44, of Barre, Vermont was arrested in Barre on
February 12, 2015, when located by members of the VVOTF. Abbott was wanted on
four separate arrest warrants for the following criminal charges:
Possession of a
Depressant / Stimulant / Narcotic
Possession of
Heroin
Possession of
Cocaine
Possession of a
Depressant / Stimulant / Narcotic
False Information
to a Law Enforcement Officer
False Pretenses x
2
Violation of
Conditions of Release x 3
In addition to these charges, Abbott was also cited by the
Barre City Police Department when arrested for the following:
Possession of a
Narcotic
False Information
to a Police Officer
Abbott’s arrest warrants date back to November 2014, and
were the result of investigations by the Williston Police Department, the Barre
City Police Department, the Vermont State Police and the Washington County
Sheriff’s Department.
On February 06, 2015, the Washington County Sheriff’s
Department requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service in locating
Abbott, as Abbott was actively evading authorities and wreaking havoc on the
community.
Abbott was transported to the Washington County Superior
Court, Criminal Division, where she was held without bail.
Abbott’s arrest was a result of a culmination of
investigative efforts by the U.S. Marshals VVOTF, the Vermont State Police, ICE
Enforcement and Removal Operations, the Washington County Sheriff’s Department
and the Barre City Police Department.
