Barrera, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), John Burke
and Troy Walker, Special Agents in Charge, Florida Department of Law
Enforcement (FDLE), Ft. Myers and Miami Regional Offices, respectively, Susan
Benton, Sheriff, Highlands County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO), Paul C. May,
Sheriff, Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO), and Ken J. Mascara,
Sheriff, St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office (SLCSO), made the announcement.
Alex Guerrier, 29, and Robin Jean Guillaume, 28, were
sentenced for their convictions for conspiracy to possess with intent to
distribute cocaine hydrochloride and possession of a firearm in furtherance of
drug trafficking in Fort Pierce, Florida.
Guerrier was sentenced to 330 months in prison, to be followed by five
years of supervised release and Guillaume was sentenced to 308 months in
prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release.
According to court documents, Guerrier and Guillame were
part of a drug trafficking organization which operated in Highlands, Broward,
and Miami-Dade Counties within the Southern District of Florida and
elsewhere. The drug trafficking
organization was responsible for the distribution of multi-kilogram quantities
of cocaine hydrochloride, cocaine base, commonly referred to as “crack”
cocaine, and other illegal narcotics.
During the execution of the arrest warrants for Guerrier and Guillaume,
two law enforcement officers were shot.
This case is the result of the ongoing efforts by the
Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), a partnership between
federal, state and local law enforcement agencies. The OCDETF mission is to
identify, investigate, and prosecute high level members of drug trafficking
enterprises, bringing together the combined expertise and unique abilities of
federal, state and local law enforcement.
Mr. Ferrer commended the investigative efforts of the DEA,
USMS, ATF, FDLE, HCSO, OCSO, and SLCSO.
Mr. Ferrer also thanked the Sebring Police Department for their
assistance in this matter. This case was
prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer C. Nucci.
