Murder Suspect Arrested in Durham, North Carolina by U.S. Marshals



Durham, NC – Yesterday afternoon at 4:00 PM, Fredrick Wayne McLucas Jr., a 34 year old, Black Male, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and Durham Police Department. On February 10, 2015, an arrest warrant was issued for Murder by the Durham Police Department.

On January 31, 2015, the Durham Police Department responded to a cardiac arrest at the 1100 block of Gurley Street. Upon arrival the officer’s found the victim, Isabella McLucas, a 3 month old child unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene. After further investigation by detectives, it was determined that McLucas had suffered multiple head injuries that resulted in her death. It is alleged, that McLucas Jr., the father of the child caused the injuries.

The JFTF arrested McLucas Jr. without incident at the 300 block of Crutchfield Street. Detectives’ transported him to the Durham County Detention Center where he is being held with no bond.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
