Robbery of Bank of America Branch in Smyrna


ATLANTA—Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Brian D. Lamkin requests the public’s assistance in identifying and locating the person responsible for the attempted armed robbery today at the Bank of America branch located at 2475 South Cobb Drive in Smyrna, Georgia.

On Monday, April 30, 2012, at approximately 11:45 a.m., a lone black female entered the Bank of America located at 2475 South Cobb Drive in Smyrna, Georgia and, after approaching a teller station, discreetly announced a robbery while presenting the teller with a demand note. After the teller did not respond to this, the robber then brandished and pointed a revolver-type handgun at the teller. After additional non-response by the teller, the robber departed the bank without obtaining any money.

The robber is described as being a black female, mid-to-late 30s in age, approximately 5’5” tall, weighing approximately 150 lbs., wearing a black wig, off-white colored sweater, and dark sunglasses. Photos of the suspect are below.
