Seeking Information on Two Bank Robberies Committed by the Same Person

The FBI and the Philadelphia Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for both the attempted robbery of the Bank of America branch located at 1841 E. Allegheny Avenue at 12:15 p.m. today, and the robbery of the PNC Bank branch located at 900 Walnut Street, inside Wills Eye Hospital, at 2:00 p.m. today.

In both robberies, the subject presented threatening demand notes to tellers. In the earlier robbery, he fled without obtaining any money, but in the second robbery he did obtain cash and was last seen in a parking lot in the 800 block of Sansom Street.

The subject is described as a white male in his 40s, 5’8” to 5’9” tall, medium to stocky build, with very light/thin facial hair and graying or salt-and-pepper hair. In the first robbery, he was wearing a white baseball cap, a light-colored or grey baseball-style shirt with blue sleeves, dark cargo shorts, and white sneakers. In the second robbery he was wearing a bright red Phillies baseball cap and t-shirt, khaki cargo shorts, and white sneakers.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is asked to call the Philadelphia Police Department or the FBI at 215-418-4000. There may be a reward for information leading to this subject’s capture, and tipsters can remain anonymous.
