FBI and San Diego Police Department Seek Public’s Assistance to Identify Female Bank Robber Believed Responsible for Two Bank Robberies

The FBI and San Diego Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance to identify the unknown female believed responsible for robbing two U.S. Bank branches within the last 10 days. The first robbery was on Saturday, July 9, 2011, and the latest on Tuesday, July 19, 2011.

On Tuesday, July 19, 2011, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the U.S. Bank located inside of the Albertson’s grocery store at 14340 Penasquitos Drive, San Diego, California, was robbed by an unknown female. This same female is believed to be responsible for robbing the U.S. Bank located at 3201 University Avenue, San Diego, California, on Saturday, July 9, 2011.

During the latest robbery, the suspect entered the grocery store and walked over to the in-store bank. She presented a demand note and verbally demanded cash. In her demand, the suspect threatened to injure the teller if the teller did not comply with her demands. After receiving a sum of money, the suspect walked out of the store. Witnesses stated she left in a white pick-up truck with a black stripe on the side.

On Saturday, July 9, 2011, at approximately 11:23 a.m., the U.S. Bank located at 3201 University Avenue, San Diego, California, was robbed by an unknown female using a demand note. This suspect is believed to be the same person who robbed the above bank.

Witnesses describe the robber as follows:

Sex: Female
Race: Black
Height: Approximately 5’5” to 5’8” tall
Weight: Approximately 210 lbs.
Build: Heavy
Age: Approximately 35 to 40 years old
Hair: Black curly hair pulled back
Clothing: Sleeveless green print dress and dark sunglasses
