On April 5, 2011 , at approximately , the Wells Fargo Bank branch located at 2145 Ford Parkway in St. Paul , Minnesota , was robbed by a lone man. The robber came into the bank lobby and wrote a demand note on a bank deposit slip. He approached a teller window and handed the note to a bank teller. The robber was provided with an undisclosed amount of cash, which he put into a plastic Target bag. The robber then left the bank. No one was injured in the robbery.
The bank branch is located in the same building as a Lifetime Fitness gym. After viewing videotaped images of the robber, a Lifetime Fitness employee recognized the robber as a former member of Lifetime Fitness. The robber was subsequently identified as Michael Lewis Johnson, 54, of south Minneapolis . At approximately this morning, St. Paul and Minneapolis police officers and FBI agents executed a Hennepin County search warrant at Johnson's home. He was placed under arrest and is currently being held at the Ramsey County Jail in St. Paul .
