David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, announced that ANTHONY HALL, 50, of Montville, was sentenced today by United States District Judge Vanessa L. Bryant in Hartford to 87 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, for robbing four Connecticut banks in 2008 and 2009.
According to court documents and statements made in court, HALL robbed a Putnam Bank branch in Ledyard on January 30, 2008; a Webster Bank branch in Waterford on June 11, 2009; a New Alliance Bank branch in East Haven on June 24, 2009; and a Hudson Valley Bank branch in Westport on July 10, 2009. HALL pointed a firearm at a teller during the Ledyard, Waterford, and East Haven robberies, and stole a total of $26,441 from the four banks.
HALL has been detained since his arrest by the United States Marshals Service on August 14, 2009, in Brooklyn, New York.
On April 27, 2010, HALL pleaded guilty to one count of armed bank robbery.
