March 25, 2010 - Defendant Admits Robbing Five Branches of First Convenience Bank in Less Than Two Weeks
DALLAS—Samuel Johns Dickey, 43, of Dallas, pleaded guilty today to robbing five First Convenience Banks in the Dallas - Fort Worth metroplex between October 23 and November 4, 2009, announced U.S. Attorney James T. Jacks of the Northern District of Texas. All of the banks were located inside WalMart stores. He faces a maximum statutory sentence of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine, for each of the five counts. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 16, 2010, by U.S. District Judge Jorge A. Solis.
Dickey admitted committed the following bank robberies:
• October 23, 2009: First Convenience Bank, 6401 North East Loop 820, North Richland Hills, Texas
• October 25, 2009: First Convenience Bank, 2275 Gus Thomasson Road, Dallas
• October 27, 2009: First Convenience Bank, 150 North Beckley, Lancaster, Texas
• October 28, 2009: First Convenience Bank, 200 U.S. Highway 80, Mesquite, Texas
• November 4, 2009: First Convenience Bank, 12300 Lake June Road, Balch Springs, Texas
Dickey was arrested on November 9, 2009, after a concerned citizen saw a wanted poster of the suspect and notified law enforcement.
The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Kull.
