CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A Fairmont, West Virginia man
was indicted by a federal grand jury today on a child pornography charge,
United States Attorney Bill Powell announced.
James Timothy Cobb, age 56, was indicted on one count of
“Possession of Child Pornography.” Cobb is accused of possessing child
pornography in Marion County in September 2014.
Cobb faces up to 20 years incarceration and a fine of up to
$250,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed
will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal
history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Sarah E. Wagner is prosecuting the
cases on behalf of the government. The Federal Bureau of Investigation
investigated.
An indictment is merely an accusation. A defendant is
presumed innocent unless and until proven guilt
