Last Call for Public Comments on the Draft Update to NIJ Ballistic-Resistant Body Armor Standard

The 90-day comment period for both the latest update to the National Institute of Justice ballistic-resistant body armor standard and the associated threat level document closes at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23. The draft of NIJ Standard 0101.07, Ballistic Resistance of Body Armor was developed through an NIJ Special Technical Committee comprised of criminal justice professionals and testing experts, as was the proposed specification of the threat levels and associated ammunition intended for use with all voluntary NIJ standards that specify a minimum performance requirement for U.S. law enforcement equipment intended to protect against handgun and rifle ammunition.
