MADISON, WIS. – Scott C. Blader, United States Attorney for
the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Quincy Dixon, 25, Madison,
Wisconsin, was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge William Conley to 100
months in federal prison for robbing the BMO Harris Bank in Fitchburg on
December 4, 2017. Dixon pleaded guilty
to this charge on March 21, 2018.
Dixon entered the BMO Harris Bank shortly before 11:00 a.m.
on December 4, and handed a teller a note demanding money. After the teller gave Dixon the money, he
fled on foot. Surveillance cameras
showed Dixon going into a nearby apartment complex, where officers found
clothing and identification that Dixon left behind. Police later received a tip that led to
Dixon’s capture that evening at a fast food restaurant near Stoughton Road.
In sentencing Dixon, Judge Conley considered his long
criminal history and pattern of violent crimes that have impacted others, as
well as the fact Dixon was on supervision for a state robbery conviction at the
time he committed the bank robbery.
Dixon was also ordered to pay restitution to the bank, as
the stolen money was never recovered.
The charge against Quincy Dixon was the result of an
investigation conducted by the Fitchburg Police Department, Madison Police
Department, and Federal Bureau of Investigation. The prosecution of the case has been handled
by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert A. Anderson.
