Gulfport, Miss. – Hector Serrano-Cruz, age 41, an illegal
alien from Mexico living in Gulfport, was sentenced today by U.S. District
Judge Louis Guirola, Jr. to 168 months in federal prison, followed by five
years of supervised release, for distributing methamphetamine in Harrison
County, announced U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst and Special Agent in Charge
Christopher Freeze of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
Serrano-Cruz pled guilty on February 5, 2018, to one count
of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine. He was supplying pound
quantities of methamphetamine to a local distributor and was held accountable
for distributing approximately five pounds of methamphetamine "ICE."
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of
Investigation and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Meynardie.
