Wilkes-Barre, PA - Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane announced
the arrest of Marlenea Uravage, 29, in Nanticoke, PA.
The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department obtained an arrest
warrant charging Uravage with assault for an incident occurring on May 28,
2017. It is alleged that Uravage violently pushed the victim to the ground
without provocation. The victim was a 12 year-old girl who was waiting outside
a local business where her father was shopping. Uravage fled the scene
immediately after the assault occurred. Earlier today, US Marshals and members
of fugitive task force located and arrested Uravage without incident. Uravage
was located off of East Green Street in Nanticoke, PA. Uravage was turned over
to local authorities pending judicial proceedings.
United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “I cannot think
of a bigger responsibility then the safety and protection of our nation’s
children. The U.S. Marshals Service and our task force partners take an
aggressive, deliberate approach in locating and arresting fugitives wanted for
crimes against children. It is my sincere hope that this arrest brings some
sense of comfort to the victim.”
The USMS worked jointly in these investigations with
personnel from the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department, Scranton Police
Department, Pennsylvania State Police and the Nanticoke Police Department.
