Albuquerque, NM - The U.S. Marshal Service for the District
of New Mexico, South West Investigative Fugitive Team (SWIFT) Task Force, along
with of the New Mexico Department of Correction– Probation Parole Security
Threat Intelligence Unit, and Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office, apprehended
Tyree Mitchell Monday. A second gang member, Manual Torres, was arrested by New
Mexico State Police, after a traffic stop.
Mitchell was convicted on a 2011 case for possession of a
firearm by a felon. He received a sentence of nine years and six months. Nine
years was imposed and six months suspended. Mitchell has a lengthy criminal
history with violent crimes in multiple states. On November 8, 2016, a State
Parole Retake warrant was issued for Mitchell.
Torres, who also had a State of New Mexico Parole Retake
warrant, was arrested Thursday in the Santa Fe area, during a traffic stop by
New Mexico State Police.
The U.S. Marshals Service would like to thank the public for
