Harrisburg, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin J. Pane
announced the arrest of Frederick Owens, a 26-year-old man, who was wanted by
the Harrisburg Bureau of Police for criminal attempt – criminal homicide and
other related charges.
On June 29, 2015 the Middle District of Pennsylvania
Fugitive Task Force arrested Owens without incident in York, PA. Owens was
turned over to local authorities pending court proceedings.
It is alleged that on June 16, 2015 Owens got into a
physical altercation with his victim whom he beat with various items to include
a hammer. The victim sustained multiple injuries and was taken to an area
hospital for treatment. On June 18, 2015 an arrest warrant was issued charging
Owens with criminal attempt – criminal homicide, aggravated assault – attempt
to or cause serious bodily injury, theft by unlawful taking – movable property,
and unlawful restraint/serious bodily injury.
United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “The top
priority of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force is to arrest violent
offenders, especially those who commit such violence against citizens. It is my
sincere hope that this arrest brings some sense of comfort to the victim.”
The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with personnel
from the Harrisburg Bureau of Police, Pennsylvania State Police and the York
County Sheriff’s Office.
