Harrisburg, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin Pane announced
the arrest of Isaac Brumfield Jr., a 20-year-old man, wanted for criminal
attempt – criminal homicide and aggravated assault in Chambersburg, PA.
On June 5, deputy U.S. marshals and task force officers
assigned to the South East Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) arrested Brumfield
without incident in the 400 block of Jefferson Avenue, Fayetteville, GA.
Brumfield was turned over to local authorities pending extradition back to
Pennsylvania.
It is alleged that on May 12, 2015 Brumfield shot his
victim. On May 13, an arrest warrant was issued in Chambersburg by Magisterial
District Judge Glenn Manns, charging Brumfield with aggravated assault and
criminal attempt – criminal homicide.
United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “The top
priority of the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force is to arrest violent
offenders, especially those who use guns against our citizens. This arrest
takes a dangerous suspect off the streets, and provides the victim with some
measure of justice.”
Chambersburg Police Chief David J. Arnold stated, “We
appreciate the great assistance provided by the U.S. Marshals Service Fugitive
Task Force and look forward to having this fugitive return to the Commonwealth
to face these very serious charges.“
The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with personnel
from the Pennsylvania State Police, York County Sheriff’s Department,
Chambersburg Police Department, Shippensburg Police Department, Pennsylvania
Board of Probation and Parole and members of SERFTF.
