United States Attorney Erica H. MacDonald today announced a
fourteen-count federal indictment charging ALAN DENNIS WOLFF, 56, with sexually
exploiting children in the Philippines. WOLFF was initially charged in a
criminal complaint on April 5, 2019, and was indicted on May 6, 2019. He is
currently in custody in the Sherburne County Jail pending further court
proceedings.
According to the allegations in the indictment and the
criminal complaint, from January 2013 through February 2019, WOLFF used various
Facebook accounts to communicate with other Facebook accounts purporting to
belong to minor girls, some as young as 13 years old, in the Philippines. WOLFF
repeatedly engaged the girls in graphic, sexually explicit conversations, sometimes
telling the girls that he loved them, wanted to marry them, and wanted to meet
them during his next trip to the Philippines. WOLFF repeatedly asked the minor
girls to send him naked images or recordings and, on several occasions, he sent
the girls images and recordings of himself that were sexual in nature. WOLFF
also sent money via MoneyGram to the Philippines in exchange for the images and
recordings. WOLFF traveled to the Philippines at least three times.
This case is the result of an investigation conducted by the
FBI.
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney
Carol M. Kayser.
