Arrest of Adam Paul Strege for Making Bomb Threats


SAN JUAN, PR—Special Agent in Charge Douglas A. Leff, of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) San Juan Field Office, announced the arrest of Adam Paul Strege on May 15, 2019.

A criminal complaint issued on May 15, 2019, charged Adam Paul Strege with “Maliciously Conveying False Information Concerning a Bomb Threat in Interstate Commerce” in violation of Tile 18, United States Code, Section 844(e). Strege was arrested by the FBI without incident in Carolina, Puerto Rico.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) Vanessa Bonano and investigated by the FBI.

The public is reminded a criminal complaint contains only charges and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is presumed to be innocent until and unless proven guilty. The U.S. government has the burden of proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
