A Stow man was indicted in federal court for having
methamphetamine, heroin and fentanyl.
David Thomas, Jr., 29, was indicted on one count of
possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine and one count of
possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and heroin.
Thomas had more than 500 grams of methamphetamine and
approximately 12 grams of a mixture of fentanyl and heroin on February 23,
2019, according to the indictment.
If convicted, the defendant's sentence will be determined by
the Court after reviewing factors unique to this case, including the
defendant's prior criminal record, if any, the defendant's role in the offense
and the characteristics of the violation.
In all cases the sentence will not exceed the statutory maximum and in
most cases it will be less than the maximum.
This case was investigated by the FBI and South Euclid
Police Department. It is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick
Burke.
An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of
guilt. The burden of proof is always on
the government to prove a defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
