Burlington, VT - The U.S. Marshals Service, Vermont Violent
Offender Task Force (VVOTF), arrested a sex offender, whose whereabouts were
unknown.
Benjamin Farley, 40, of Burlington, Vermont, was arrested on
Tuesday, November 29, 2016 in Burlington, Vermont when confronted by Deputy
U.S. Marshals. Farley was wanted by the Burlington Police Department /
Chittenden Unit for Special Investigations (CUSI) after his whereabouts became
unknown during a sex offender registry compliance check conducted by the CUSI
in the summer of 2016. Farley’S arrest warrant was dated September 2016.
On November 21, 2016 CUSI contacted the VVOTF and requested
assistance in locating and arresting Farley.
Farley is no stranger to the law or the VVOTF. Farley has
several arrests for failing to register as a sex offender, to include a federal
arrest and conviction. This is the fourth (4) case/warrant that the VVOTF has
worked pertaining to Farley since 2009.
The VVOTF worked tirelessly on locating Farley and developed
information on a possible location in Burlington, Vermont. On the afternoon of
November 29, 2016, Farley was located and arrested by the VVOTF.
Farley is listed on the Vermont Sex Offender Registry’s
Website, indicating that he is required to register as a sex offender for a
conviction for Lewd and Lascivious Conduct with a Child, a conviction that
dates back to 2007. This conviction occurred in the State of Vermont, Addison

Farley was transported to the Chittenden County Superior
Court, Criminal Division. The outcome of
Farley’s hearing was not available at the time of this
release.
