Fugitive sought by the Pennsylvania Department of
Corrections for Institutional Sexual Assault
Harrisburg, PA – Today, U.S. Marshal Martin Pane announced
the arrest of Sheena Johnson, 30, wanted for institutional sexual assault.
On December 30, 2014, the Pennsylvania Department of
Corrections obtained an arrest warrant charging Johnson with institutional
sexual assault. On March 11, 2015, state authorities requested the assistance
of the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend
Johnson.
Deputy U.S. Marshals developed information that Johnson may
have fled to Tennessee. Investigative efforts were coordinated with the USMS
Task Force in Chattanooga. On March 16, Johnson was arrested in Rossville, Georgia
by USMS task force personnel. She was turned over to local authorities pending
judicial proceedings in the case.
United States Marshal Pane stated, “The U.S. Marshals
Service recognizes the importance of bringing those charged with serious sex
crimes to justice as quickly as possible. We give these type cases our utmost
attention.”
The USMS worked jointly in this investigation with officers
from the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and the United States Marshals
Service in the Eastern District of Tennessee.
