PHILADELPHIA - Jahmal Williams, 27, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
was charged today by indictment with robbery which interferes with interstate
commerce, brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence,
and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, announced United States
Attorney Zane David Memeger. The charges
arise from the defendant’s gunpoint robbery of Tag It Tag Agency, a vehicle
registration and title transfer company, located at 4973 Lancaster Avenue, in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
If convicted the defendant faces a maximum possible sentence
of life imprisonment.
The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco,
Firearms, and Explosives and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States
Attorney Yvonne Osirim.
An Indictment or Information is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and
until proven guilty.
