Fugitive Facing Aggravated Assault Charge Captured
San Antonio, TX – David Davalos, 24, was arrested this
afternoon by members of the United States Marshals Service Lone Star Fugitive
Task Force (LSFTF) in San Antonio, TX. An arrest warrant was issued pursuant to
an investigation by the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD), where it is
alleged that Davalos committed aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
On January 12, 2015, members of the LSFTF initiated an
investigation in locating and apprehending Davalos. This afternoon, through
investigative efforts, task force officers determined that Davalos was hiding
out in a house located in the 800 block of Lamar Street, on the east side of
San Antonio. While conducting surveillance, task force officers observed
Davalos exit the house and walk toward the driveway. Task force officers
approached Davalos, identified themselves, and took him into custody without
incident. Incident to arrest, task force officers also found Davalos in
possession of a handgun.
On January 1, 2015, Davalos was involved in a physical
altercation with a neighborhood man in the 600 block of Muncey Street, on the
east side of San Antonio. Days later, Davalos allegedly drove to the man’s
home, observed him sitting on the porch, pulled out a gun, and fired multiple
rounds, striking the man in the back. Davalos fled the scene before police
officers arrived and the man was transported to the hospital with non-life
threatening injuries. A warrant was issued for Davalos’ arrest soon after.
Davalos is currently being held in custody at the Bexar
County Sheriff’s Office.
Robert R. Almonte, United States Marshal for the Western
District of Texas, states, “Today our task force officers once again put their
lives on the line to take another violent and dangerous criminal off the
streets. They do it courageously, they do it selflessly, they do it for the
safety of others, and for this I am proud.”
