June 10, 2010 - The Denver Police Department and the FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force responded to a bank robbery which occurred on Wednesday, June 9, 2010 at approximately 12:30 p.m. at the Bank of the West, 2050 S. Downing St., Denver, Colorado.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 22 years of age, 5'9" to 5'10, 175 lbs., with a blond buzz cut hair style.
The suspect presented a demand note to the teller.
The FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force has dubbed this bank robber the “Perennial Bandit.” It is believed that this is his second bank robbery of the same bank, around the same time of year. His first was a year ago on 06/11/2009.
This yearly pattern of his blooming crime is the reason for his nickname as he only seems to pop up once a year.
Bank robbery is punishable by a 20-year prison sentence for each offense and increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.
The FBI continues to provide financial institutions with the best practices for security to make them less vulnerable to robberies.
