PHOENIX, Ariz. –
This week, Emanuel D. Haudley, Sr., of Shonto, Ariz., was sentenced by U.S.
District Judge Michael T. Liburdi to 235 months of imprisonment, to be followed
by five years of supervised release.
Haudley had previously pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
On the night of
July 17, 2019, Haudley killed the victim near Shonto, Ariz., on the Navajo
Nation Reservation. Haudley is an
enrolled member of the Navajo Nation, as was the victim.
The investigation
in this case was conducted by the Navajo Nation Division of Public Safety and
the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The
prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Alexander Samuels and
Hunter Bridges, District of Arizona, Phoenix.
