PITTSBURGH, PA – A Mercer County resident has been indicted
by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a charge of violating the federal
narcotics laws, United States Attorney Scott W. Brady announced today.
The one-count indictment, returned on July 31, named Henry
A. Bruce, age 38, of Farrell, Pennsylvania, as the sole defendant.
According to the indictment, on or about June 28, 2018,
Bruce possessed with the intent to distribute 28 grams or more of crack
cocaine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not less
than five years and up to 40 years in prison, a fine of up to $5,000,000, or
both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed
would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal
history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorneys Rebecca L. Silinski and
Troy Rivetti are prosecuting this case on behalf of the government.
The Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, the Mercer
County Drug Task Force, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted the
investigation leading to the indictment in this case.
An indictment is an accusation. A defendant is presumed
innocent unless and until proven guilty
