Bureau of Justice Assistance Produces Guidance on Developing License Plate Reader Policies

Developed by state, local and federal law enforcement practitioners and subject-matter experts with LPR expertise, the template includes baseline provisions on LPR information collection, information quality, access and disclosure, redress, security, retention and destruction, accountability and enforcement, and training. It also includes sample policy language, a glossary, legal citations and a draft model policy.
