Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect Grabbed by U.S. Marshals in High Point, North Carolina



High Point, NC – This morning at 09:45 AM, Michael Donnell Baskins, a 38 year old, Black Male, was arrested by members of the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and the High Point Police Department. On December 6, 2014, the High Point Police Department issued warrants for Baskins for Attempted First Degree Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury. Baskins reportedly shot the victim, Darrius Fuller, in the head during an incident in southeast High Point. The victim sustained one non-life threatening wound to the area near his temple.

The JFTF conducted surveillance at 2429 Francis Street in High Point. Baskins was located and arrested without incident in apartment D. Baskins was transported to the High Point Police Department and turned over to detectives.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
