U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Arrests Homicide Suspect



Pittsburgh, PA - The U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force (WPAFTF) arrested homicide fugitive David Miklos at approximately 11:00 am this morning at a residence in Pittsburgh. Miklos, age 53, was charged by the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police on February 26, 2014, with Criminal Homicide, Robbery and Firearms offenses. These charges arose out of an incident occurring in the evening hours of February 10, 2014 in the 1200 block of Woodland Avenue in Pittsburgh’s Marshall-Shadeland neighborhood. Miklos is alleged to have shot 66 year old Richard Didonato in the torso. Didonato was conscious when Pittsburgh Police arrived on the scene but later died that evening at Allegheny General Hospital.

Miklos was last known to reside on the Northside Section of Pittsburgh. WPAFTF members, who had initiated this investigation last week upon the request of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, arrested Miklos after he was located hiding underneath a bed on the second floor of a residence in the 200 block of Kennedy Avenue` in Pittsburgh. Following his arrest, Miklos was turned him over to the custody of Pittsburgh Bureau of Police Homicide Detectives.

The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force is comprised of officers from the Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole, Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, Allegheny County Sheriffs, and Westmoreland County Sheriff’s. These agencies, along with the United States Attorney’s Office, are participating members of the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force (WPAFTF).
