The FBI Bank Robbery Task Force needs your help identifying a serial robber who is now believed to be responsible for at least six Houston area bank robberies. The latest robberies occurred at Compass and Chase Bank branches on 02/09/2011 . The bank's surveillance photographs are below.
At approximately , the robber entered the Compass Bank, located at 21015 Kuykendahl in Spring, Texas . He approached a teller, then handed her a note which demanded money and threatened that he had a gun. The teller provided the robber with some cash and he fled the bank. While exiting the bank, the robber dropped the money.
Less than 30 minutes later, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the same robber entered the Chase Bank, located at 2111 FM 2920 in Spring, Texas. In a similar style, he approached a teller and handed her a note which again demanded money and threatened that he had a gun. The teller observed what she believed was the outline of a gun concealed in the robber's pocket. The teller handed him some cash and he left the bank. He was observed getting into the front passenger seat of a black Chevy Impala with paper plates. No one was physically hurt in either robbery.
The robber is described as a black male, 20-25, approximately 5'10" to 6' tall, with a slim build and cleanly shaven with a dark complexion. He wore a black knit cap, black rimmed glasses, a white shirt, dark tie, black sweater, and black pants.
This robber is suspected in at least four other area bank robberies, which occurred at the Trustmark Bank, located at 6809 FM 1960 West in Houston, Texas, on 11/16/2010; the Sterling Bank, located at 855 FM 1960 in Houston, Texas, on 12/20/1010; the Regions Bank, located at 9480 College Park in The Woodlands, Texas, on 01/18/2011; and the Chase Bank, located at 20798 FM 1485 in new Caney, Texas, on 02/01/2011.
