Arrests Made in Major Longview Meth Ring

Six in Custody on Federal Drug Charges

June 9, 2010 - TYLER, TX—A combined task force of federal and local law enforcement agencies have arrested six Longview, Texas residents alleged to be involved in a major methamphetamine drug trafficking criminal enterprise in the Eastern District of Texas announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.

According to court documents, the arrests were made as a result of a year-long joint undercover operation investigating a major methamphetamine distribution ring in the Gregg County area. On June 3, 2010 a federal grand jury returned a one-count indictment charging 10 individuals with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

The following defendants have been arrested and appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge John D. Love for initial appearances on June 8, 2010:

• Shauna Elaine Miller, age 28;
• Meagan Allise Henderson, age 24;
• Darby Brooke Wright, age 26;
• Jaclyn Ann McAlpine, age 29;
• Jeremy Lyn Noble, age 22; and
• Jennifer Lynn Shaffer, age 25.

If convicted, the defendants face up to 40 years in federal prison. It is important to note that an indictment is merely a charge and should not be considered as evidence of either innocence or guilt.

The case is being investigated by the FBI, the Gregg County CODE Unit, the Longview Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety. This case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard L. Moore.
