High Point Attempted Robbery Suspect Arrested in Trinity, NC by U.S. Marshals



High Point, NC – On August 5, 2015 at 10:15 AM, Steven Eugene Weatherman, a 27 year old, male was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force (JFTF) and the High Point Police Department. On May 29, 2015, a warrant was issued for Weatherman charging him with Attempted Robbery with a Dangerous weapon.

It is alleged that on March 12, 2015, Weatherman entered The Barbecue Specialist, located at 736 W. Fairfield Road wearing a mask and intending to rob the business. The owner, Keith Baker, upon seeing this, drew his own handgun. Weatherman then fled the scene without gaining any money.

Information was developed that led the JFTF to an address in Trinity where Weatherman was observed on the front porch of 4426 Pine Needle Lane by task force officers. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the High Point Police Department for processing. Details concerning conditions of his release are not available at this time.

The U.S. Marshals Joint Fugitive Task Force for the Middle District of North Carolina is comprised of investigators from the U.S. Marshals Service, Chapel Hill Police Department, Durham Police Department, Greensboro Police Department, High Point Police Department, Winston-Salem Police Department, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol and the North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Department of Community Corrections – Probation & Parole.
