NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – ISIAH HOLMES, age 48, a resident of
New Orleans, was indicted for bank robbery on March 13, 2020, announced U.S.
Attorney Peter G. Strasser.
According to court documents, on or about December 23, 2019,
HOLMES entered the Capital One Bank located at 4121 Canal St. in New Orleans.
HOLMES then handed the teller a note that claimed he was armed, and demanded
money. HOLMES obtained approximately
$774 and left the bank. If convicted, HOLMES faces a maximum of 20 years
imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, 3 years of supervised release and a $100 special
assessment fee.
United States Attorney Strasser reiterated that the
indictment is merely a charge and that the guilt of the defendant must be
proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
U.S. Attorney Strasser praised the work of the Federal
Bureau of Investigation in investigating this matter. The prosecution of this
case is being handled by Assistant U. S. Attorney G. Dall Kammer, Supervisor of
the General Crimes Unit.
