FBI Announces Recovery of Missing Adams County Child

On March 24, 2020, FBI Seattle and our Legal Attaché Office in Mexico City recovered an Adams County girl, who had been missing for nearly two years. Acting on a tip, FBI agents were able to positively identify the girl who was in rural Mexico eight hours outside of Mexico City, and bring her home.

“Too many times we see situations like these end in tragedy or with no answers. Happily in this case, we were able to bring her home, thanks to the quick actions of our agents and our partners at the Othello Police Department and the Mexican Federal Police.” said FBI Seattle Special Agent in Charge Raymond Duda.

According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, the girl went missing in June 2018 when she was 14 years old. It was believed she may be in Mexico, but she had not been seen since disappearing from Othello in central Washington two years ago.

The girl was flown back to the United States, arriving in Spokane late Tuesday night where she was reunited with her family.
