SCRANTON – The United States Attorney’s Office for the
Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that David Mark Scott, age 60, of
Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 120 months’ imprisonment followed
by five years’ supervised release by United States District Court Judge Malachy
E. Mannion for possession of videos and images involving sexual exploitation of
children.
According to United States Attorney David J. Freed, from
June 2017 through September 2018, Scott received and possessed multiple videos
and images depicting minors under the age of 12 engaged in sexually explicit
conduct with adult males and females.
In addition to the term of imprisonment, Judge Mannion
ordered that Scott comply with the Sexual Offender and Registration
Notification Act (SORNA), a national system for the registration of sex
offenders.
The matter was investigated by the United States Postal
Service, Office of Inspector General, and the Federal Bureau of
Investigation. The case was prosecuted
by Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Olshefski.
