ALEXANDRIA, La. - A former Pollock inmate was sentenced
today to seven years in federal prison for attacking a Pollock staff member,
said U.S. Attorney David C. Joseph.
Brandon L. Jones, 38, who is in federal custody, pleaded
guilty on August 20, 2019, to one count of assaulting a federal officer. In his

Penitentiary Pollock, slammed her to the table and threw her to the floor.
Correctional officers responded to the scene and took Jones into custody. The
staff member suffered multiple injuries, and underwent surgery to repair a
ruptured ligament in her thumb. Jones is currently serving a 188-month federal
prison sentence for possession with intent to distribute cocaine.
The FBI and U.S. Bureau of Prisons investigated the case.
