Webinar on Safety and Emergency Planning for Minors on Campus
A
free webinar on emergency planning for minors on college campuses will be held
May 17, 2016, at 2 p.m. ET. Many institutions of higher education develop their
safety and emergency protocols to meet the needs of the traditional campus
community. However, as the spring semester comes to a close, there are often
more children and young teenagers on campus. Many come without their parents to
attend camps or enrichment programs. Some institutions may run these programs
year-round or may partner with local K-12 schools to provide mentoring
opportunities, tutoring services or other college credit programs. Sponsored by
the National Center for Campus Public Safety, the Planning for the Safety of
Minors: Routine and Emergency Situations webinar will discuss why it is
important for colleges and universities to consider minors in their safety and
emergency protocols. One person may register on behalf of a group. Register by
May 13 at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/planning-for-the-safety-of-minors-routine-and-emergency-situations-registration-24641333893.
