Public Comment Period on Gun Safety Open

The National Institute of Justice seeks public comment on draft test procedures developed for the Gun Safety Technology Challenge, published at http://www.nij.gov/funding/pages/fy16-gun-safety-challenge.aspx. The document describes test methods to provide a basis to determine whether the addition of a smart gun technology significantly reduces the reliability of a firearm system compared to existing firearms. To submit comments, send an email to gunsafetytechnology@usdoj.gov and indicate the page number, section number and line number associated with each comment, and include contact information. Comments may also be provided as a markup of the Word document. Deadline for submission is June 13, 2016.
